Indonesia's largest phone operator Telkom launched a new Internet-based television service on Thursday that allows viewers to pause and rewind television shows and features an online library of videos, games and karaoke songs.
Telkom announced Groovia TV — and the cheaper Groovie Lite — at the ICT Expo 2012 in the Jakarta Convention Center.
“Groovia TV has pause and rewind capabilities, and users can access karaoke on demand with millions of songs saved in our server,” a Telkom salesman said in Telkom’s booth in the ICT expo, as quoted by republika.co.id.
Groovia TV is the second interactive television service announced for the Indonesian market.
Samsung Electronics Indonesia launched its own Smart TV service late last month. Samsung's television offers viewers access to a similar online library of content, but also features voice activated controls some 10,000 apps.
